Cebu Pacific has expanded its engine maintenance partnership with Lufthansa Technik (LHT), signing a three-year agreement covering 18 additional CFM56-5B engine shop visits for its Airbus A320ceo fleet.
The contract completes the Philippine carrier’s final maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) tender for its legacy narrow-body engines as it continues transitioning to the Airbus A320neo family powered by next-generation engines.
Under the agreement, Cebu Pacific’s engines will be serviced at Lufthansa Technik’s facilities in Hamburg, Germany, and Dublin, Ireland, where they will receive maintenance ranging from routine repairs to full overhauls. The first engine covered by the contract is scheduled to arrive at the Dublin facility by the end of the month.
Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales Asia-Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, said the agreement marks the companies’ third engine maintenance contract and reflects their long-standing partnership in the Asia-Pacific region.
