SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) has completed its acquisition of a 30% stake in Arport Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering (Fujian), also called Arport AME. The transaction was completed on August 26 2026 after all conditions were met.
This follows SIAEC’s announcement on March 17 2026 that it and its wholly owned subsidiary, SIAEC Global Private Limited, had signed agreements with Arport AME, Xiamen Iport Group and Arport AME’s direct shareholders to complete the transaction and establish an MRO joint venture in Fujian, China.
Following completion, Arport AME has become an associated company of SIAEC. Arport (Xiamen) International Airport Co., and Arport (Fuzhou) International Airport Co., Ltd. hold the remaining 38.5% and 31.5% stakes, respectively.
The transaction is not expected to have a material effect on the SIAEC Group’s consolidated net tangible assets per share or earnings per share for the financial year ending March 31 2027. None of SIAEC’s directors or controlling shareholders has any direct or indirect interest in the transaction, other than through any shares they may hold in SIAEC.
The joint venture expands SIAEC’s presence in China’s aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul market while bringing together its engineering expertise and IPORT Group’s regional airport network. Through Arport AME, the partners will be positioned to support airline customers in Fujian and respond to growing demand for regional aviation maintenance services.
