Deutsche Aircraft has completed low- and high-speed taxi testing and begun flight testing of a new landing gear system for its next-generation D328eco regional aircraft, marking a key step toward certification.

A legacy D328 aircraft serving as a dedicated flying testbed has completed its first five development flights, with all planned test objectives achieved, the German aircraft manufacturer said.

Flight testing began on Aug. 5, 2026, and the test aircraft has accumulated more than 15 hours of ground and flight testing with the new landing gear system.

Deutsche Aircraft Chief Executive Nico Neumann said the results had validated the system and allowed the company to move into the next phase of flight testing as it progresses toward certification.

The company is developing the landing gear system as a critical component of the D328eco, with the test programme intended to support its maturation and certification.

Deutsche Aircraft said bringing the system under its direct control would also strengthen reliability, supply resilience and long-term support for regional aircraft operators.

The latest tests follow the completion of the low-speed and high-speed taxi campaign and represent an important stage in preparing the D328eco for certification.

The company said the programme also supports its broader efforts to improve product support and operational readiness for regional aviation customers worldwide.
