TARMAC Aerosave has secured approval from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to carry out maintenance on Indian-registered Airbus A320-family aircraft, the company said at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026.
The approval covers the full A320 family across all engine types, including CFM56, IAE V2500, CFM LEAP-1A and Pratt & Whitney PW1100G.
TARMAC Aerosave’s headquarters and facility in Tarbes, France, can now perform maintenance on Indian-registered aircraft and issue certificates of release to service recognised by the Indian authority.
The approval covers the group’s core services, including base maintenance, end-of-lease transitions, aircraft storage and preservation, return-to-service work and engine services.
India is the world’s fastest-growing aviation market in terms of fleet expansion, while its single-aisle fleet corresponds closely with the scope of the new approval, spanning current-generation LEAP-1A and PW1100G engines as well as the previous-generation CFM56-5B and V2500.
With approval covering all four engine types, TARMAC Aerosave can accept A320 family aircraft operated by Indian carriers without engine-related restrictions. The company said this would benefit lessors and operators with mixed fleets and support aircraft transitions between Indian and international operators.
