Jazeera Airways (Jazeera) has selected CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power nine additional Airbus A320neo aircraft and expanded its existing engine services agreement with the manufacturer.
The expanded agreement covers Jazeera’s current and future fleet of 29 A320neo family aircraft, as well as the purchase of spare engines.
“We are pleased to continue our longstanding partnership with CFM International, which has been an integral part of Jazeera Airways’ growth journey over the past two decades,” Chief Executive Barathan Pasupathi said.
The selection covers nine aircraft from Jazeera’s existing order book of 26 A320neos, the airline said. Pasupathi said the agreement would support the carrier’s fleet expansion and operational efficiency as it enters its next phase of growth.
Jazeera became the first Middle Eastern operator of the LEAP-1A-powered A320neo in May 2018. It currently operates 11 A320neo aircraft powered by LEAP-1A engines, alongside 13 A320ceo aircraft powered by CFM56-5B engines.
