SriLankan Engineering has signed a long-term line maintenance agreement with Jetstar, part of the Qantas Group, covering the airline’s flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Under the agreement, SriLankan Engineering will provide line maintenance services for Jetstar’s Boeing 787 aircraft operating at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo.

The deal will support Jetstar’s Sri Lanka operations with maintenance and technical services for its 787 flights, SriLankan Engineering said.

The partnership is also expected to pave the way for SriLankan Engineering to obtain Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 145 approval from Australia. Once secured, the approval would allow the company to provide certification services for Jetstar flights operating to Sri Lanka.

The planned regulatory approval would expand SriLankan Engineering’s ability to support Jetstar’s operations and strengthen its position in the international aircraft maintenance market.
