GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) has secured more than €125+ million in financing from the Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale (Helaba) and BayernLB, with support from Bpifrance, to fund the acquisition of new Airbus helicopters in 2026 and 2027.
The financing agreements will support the company’s purchase of multiple factory-new Airbus H175 and H160 helicopters. The facility was first drawn in September to finance the acquisition of an H160.
Helaba is acting as lead arranger, facility agent and security trustee, while BayernLB is also acting as lead arranger. In addition to the Bpifrance-backed facility, the two German banks have committed to financing multiple new Leonardo AW189 helicopters scheduled for delivery in 2027.
Dublin-based GDHF finances and leases helicopters to operators worldwide, building a portfolio of newer-generation aircraft designed for a range of missions.
Its helicopters are used across sectors including offshore oil and gas, wind energy, emergency medical services, search and rescue, government, corporate and parapublic operations.
