British Airways starts ground-handling operations for American Airlines at Heathrow

British Airways has begun ground-handling operations for American Airlines at Heathrow Terminal 3 from February 2013. British Airways secured the five-year contract last year following an extensive tender process. The work covers all aspects of ramp and baggage handling for American Airlines, which operates more than 200-weekly flights to and from Heathrow. The contract also includes providing ground-handling services at Heathrow Terminal 3 for JAL, EVA Air and Royal Jordanian – previously covered by American Airlines. British Airways and American Airlines are both members of the oneworld alliance and operate a transatlantic joint business with Iberia.
