Global Eagle's Satellite Connectivity System scheduled for install on initial launch of Boeing 737 MAX in 2017

Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE), a market-leading media and connectivity company to the travel industry reported that Southwest Airlines has chosen GEE’s Ku-band global satellite connectivity system to be factory installed on its orders for the Boeing 737 MAX. Southwest is Boeing’s launch customer for the 737 MAX program and expects to take the first deliveries of these airplanes in 2017. The airplanes will be delivered to Southwest with GEE’s connectivity system pre-installed, enabling passengers to access the internet and the airline’s popular Free Live TV service. GEE’s satellite connectivity system is now provisions offerable on Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft, and the company is actively working with Boeing on full line fit catalogue offerability, which it expects to achieve later this year.
