Abu Dhabi Aviation, based in Abu Dhabi, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for two Q400 NextGen aircraft. The airline is a longtime Bombardier Q-Series aircraft customer. Based on the list price, the potential contract value for Abu Dhabi Aviation’s transaction, covering two Q400 NextGen aircraft, would be approximately $70m.

Boeing flew the third 787-9 Dreamliner, the first to be powered by General Electric GEnx engines. The third of three 787-9s dedicated to the test effort, ZB021 joined the fleet some two months from the inaugural flight of the first 787-9. GE has awarded Azerbaijan Airlines its TRUEngine designation for 18 GE engines powering three of its aircraft types. The agreement includes six CF6-80C2s powering Azerbaijan Airline’s Boeing 767s, eight CF34-10Es powering its EMBRAER 190s and four GEnx-1B engines, powering two Boeing 787-8s slated for delivery in 2014.
