AWAS announced the delivery of one new Airbus A320 passenger aircraft to Air Via, based in Varna, Bulgaria. This is the first of two new A320s AWAS will deliver to the airline from its new order pipeline based upon an agreement finalised in mid-2010.
Southwest Airlines (LUV) confirmed that the airline, together with its subsidiary, AirTran Airways, has reached a tentative agreement with Delta Air Lines, and Boeing Capital to sublease all 88 of its Boeing 717 aircraft to Delta. A final agreement is subject to Delta and Southwest reaching certain agreements with all parties related to the aircraft
Brazilian carrier Passaredo Linhas Aéreas introduced the new ATR 72-600 into its fleet. The airline and US-based leasing company Air Lease Corporation (ALC) have entered into an agreement for the introduction of four ATR 72-600s, and on May 22nd took delivery of the very first of these aircraft at the ATR facilities in Toulouse, France.
Bristol Associates, as remarketing agent for United Airlines, has completed the sale of one UAL-owned 2001 vintage, CF6-80C2B4F-powered B767-224ER. The aircraft will be operated by UTAir (Russia) and represents the first delivery in a fleet acquisition of (8) B767-224ER aircraft. UTAir will employ the aircraft to expand longer-haul scheduled and charter markets.
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has begun testing of the compressor for the next generation regional turboprop engine, a key step in the company’s technology demonstrator program. AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, announced that UTair of Russia has recently been certified as an AW139 helicopter operator and is set to operate ten AW139s for passenger, corporate and VVIP transport missions in Russia. The first aircraft is expected to be handed over this summer with deliveries planned to be completed by summer 2013. The
Silver Airways accepted delivery of two more Saab 340Bplus aircraft, bringing the carrier fleet’s total Saabs to six. The Fort Lauderdale-based airline expects to integrate a total of 12 Saab 340Bplus aircraft into its fleet by September 2012. Bombardier Aerospace has delivered the first of eight Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners ordered by new customer Eurolot S.A. of Warsaw, Poland. The Polish carrier also holds options on an additional 12 of the aircraft.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and Aeroflot signed the Act of Delivery & Acceptance for the eighth Sukhoi Superjet 100, MSN 95014, at Komsomolsk-on-the Amur. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation May 23rd from Komsomolsk-on-the Amur to Moscow.
