UTC Aerospace Systems has been selected by Singapore Airlines to supply the wheels and carbon brakes for its fleet of eight new Boeing 777LR aircraft. The company will provide the equipment through its Wheels & Brakes business in Troy, Ohio. The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in August 2013.
WestJet reported January 2013 traffic results with a load factor of 80.9%, up 1.0 point when compared to the previous year. Traffic increased 7.7% year over year, and capacity grew 6.4% over the same period.

Etihad Airways’ codeshare partner Hainan Airlines has shifted its Gulf flight operations from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalized a firm order for 15 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes worth $4.7bn at list prices. The agreement, first announced in October as a commitment, also includes options for five additional 777-300ERs. IAG Group traffic for the month of November 2012 rose by 3.6% versus November 2011 while Group capacity measured was up 1.2%. Group load factor was up 1.9 points to 77.2%.
Air France KLM released that November 2012 saw traffic rise by 2.2%, while capacity was up by 0.3% compared to November 2011. The load factor for the month increased 1.5 points to 81.2%.

Air Canada announced a major expansion of its international services for this summer. The carrier is launching a new non-stop route between Toronto and Seoul , starting service to Istanbul subject to government approval, adding seven weekly departures to Beijing from Toronto and Vancouver, and upgrading its Calgary-Tokyo Narita route to provide daily service.
