easyJet reported that traffic in May increased 1.5% compared to the same period last year, while the load factor slightly improved by 0.3 pts to 83.5%.

Ryanair reported that traffic grew 9% in May 2009, while the load factor was up 1pt to 81% compared to the same period in 2008.

Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for May 2009. System traffic in May 2009, including both Delta and Northwest operations, decreased 9.7% compared to May 2008 on a 7.9% decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 1.6 points to 82.3%.

US Airways Group reported May 2009 traffic results. Mainline traffic was down 5.2% versus May 2008, while capacity was down 5.8% versus May 2008. Passenger load factor for the month of May was a record 82.8%, up 0.5 points versus May 2008.

Alaska reported a decrease in load factor to 76.8% in May 2009, compared to 77.8% in May 2008, on a 6.3% decline in capacity compared to the prior-year period. Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009. The company reported a 5.2% traffic decrease from the same month last year, while capacity dropped 4.0%. Load factor was 75.8% versus 76.8% in May 2008. Approximately 1.7 million passengers were carried during the month, a 1.4% decrease from the same month last year.

Allegiant Air reported May 2009 load factor of 90.6%, up 0.7 pts compared to May 2008, traffic was up 23.9%, while capacity was up 22.9% compared to the same period last year.

WestJet announced May traffic results with a load factor of 74.1%. Traffic declined 5.8%, while capacity grew 1.2% over the same period.

Continental Airlines reported a May consolidated load factor of 80.9%, 0.3 points below the May 2008 consolidated load factor, while traffic decreased 9.0% and capacity decrease 8.8% compared to May 2008.
