Alaska reported a two-point increase in load factor to 73.6% in October 2008, compared to October 2007 on a 3.7% decline in capacity, compared to the prior-year period. Traffic was down 1.0% compared to the same period in 2007.

Air Canada's traffic down in October

For the month of October, Air Canada reported a load factor of 80.2% on a consolidated basis with Jazz, a record for the month, versus 78.6% in October 2007, an increase of 1.6 pts. System traffic decreased 3.9% on a capacity decrease of 5.9% system wide.

ExpressJet reports third quarter 2008 results

ExpressJet Holdings reported a third quarter loss, excluding special charges and other non-operating items, of $10 million — a $13 million improvement over third quarter 2007. Including special charges, net of taxes and a deferred tax valuation totaling $5.2 million, ExpressJet reported a net loss totaling $4.8 million.

US Airways Group reported October 2008 traffic results. Mainline traffic for the month was down 3.6% from October 2007. Capacity was down 5.2% versus October 2007. For the third consecutive month, US Airways set a monthly record with passenger load factor of 81.9% for the month of October 2008 versus 80.5% in October 2007.
