SAS Group’s traffic increased by 2.9% in December and capacity was up by 3.3% vs 2006. SAS Group carried 2.7 million passengers in December, up 0.3% vs 2006 and total load factor was down 0.3 p.u. to 65.8%.
For the month of December, system traffic on a consolidated basis for Air Canada and Jazz rose 2.4% on a capacity increase of 1.6% system wide. This resulted in a load factor of 78.8% versus 78.2% in December 2006,
ATA Airlines reported that its scheduled service passenger load factor increased 3.2 points to 82.3% from 79.1% observed in December 2006. Scheduled service traffic increased 8.7% from December 2006 while capacity increased 4.4% when compared to the same period in 2006.
easyJet reported that traffic increased 9.9% in December compared to the same period in 2006, the load factor for the month dropped 2.2 pts to 78.9%.
Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for December 2007. System traffic for December 2007 increased 3.0 % from December 2006 on a capacity increase of 3.1% Delta’s system load factor was 77.7% in December 2007, flat from the same period last year.
Alaska’s December traffic increased 6.3% while capacity increased 5.2% compared to December 2006. This resulted in a passenger load factor of 75.8%, compared to 75.1% in December 2006.
WestJet reported a record December load factor of 79.3%, up 1.3 pts compared to December 2006. This was accompanied by 15.2% capacity growth and an increase in traffic of 17.1%.
TAM and LAN Peru have begun their operational codeshare agreement. The partnership allows TAM to sell flights operated by LAN Peru between Sao Paulo and Lima, with the possibility of connections to the cities of Arequipa and Cuzco. In return, LAN Peru will offer multiple flight options to various Brazilian state capitals and cities served
Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for December 2007. The company reported that traffic increased 32.1% over the same month last year, while cpacity increased 32.9%. The load factor was 69.3% versus 69.7% in December 2006.
In December 2007, passenger capacity, was 2.0% above December 2006, traffic rose 1.0% and the load factor was down 0.7 points versus last year, to 73.5%.
