Southwest Airlines filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for slots that would allow Southwest to offer the first-ever nonstop service between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. AerData, the provider of software and services for the aviation industry announced the launch of a new fleet and valuation database, AtlasData, at the forthcoming ISTAT Americas conference.  The database will incorporate BlueBook values from AVITAS, a leading aircraft valuation and consultancy firm.  Commenting on the announcement, Paul van Tol, Managing Director of AerData said:

GE Global Research presented new research findings on its nanotextured anti-icing surfaces. In addition to dramatically reducing ice adhesion, these surfaces now have been shown to significantly delay the onset of ice formation in simulated atmospheric icing conditions.
