Etihad Airways and Jet Airways of India released that the UAE national carrier has agreed to subscribe for 27,263,372 new shares in Jet Airways at a price of INR754.74 per share. Bombardier Aerospace and RwandAir of Kigali, Rwanda have signed a firm purchase agreement for one Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner. Based on the list price of the Q400 NextGen aircraft, the order is valued at approximately $33m. Boeing Canada Winnipeg announced plans to increase its Murray Park Road manufacturing site by more than 22%, primarily to house new composites work for Boeing’s 737 MAX airplane. Delta’s net profit for the March 2013 quarter was $85m, excluding special items. This result is a $124m improvement year-over-year. Including $78m in special items, Delta’s GAAP net income was $7m. Air Lease Corporation announced a lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for two new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, both on lease for twelve years. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May and June 2015.
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has signed a purchase and leaseback transaction with Spirit Airlines for six new Airbus A320 aircraft to expand the carrier’s fleet. GECAS delivered the first aircraft to Spirit in March. The remainder deliver in 2013 with all six aircraft coming from Spirit’s existing order book with Airbus.
