The first FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Low Plasticity Burnishing (LPB) has been granted to Delta Air Lines’ maintenance division, Delta TechOps, to mitigate fretting induced fatigue cracking in the high pressure compressor section of the CFM56-7. Doric Asset Finance delivered two Airbus A319s to the Tunisian airline Syphax Airlines on 14th and 15th March 2012, respectively. Doric was also mandated with the asset management of the two aircraft. US Airways and MTU Maintenance Hannover have signed a multi-year CF6-80C2 Engine Maintenance Agreement. The agreement covers overhaul services for the engines which power the airline’s fleet of Boeing 767-200 aircraft, and includes engine accessories. MTU’s relationship of providing engine maintenance services for US Airways dates back to 1993 with America West Airlines.
Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, has delivered a new Airbus A320 passenger aircraft to S7 Airlines in Russia. This is the first of two A320s that AWAS will deliver to S7 Airlines in the first quarter of 2012.
Eurocopter India, a subsidiary of Eurocopter, announced its first bookings in India for 2012. Comprising light and medium class helicopters, the bookings included an AS350 B3e, an EC135 and an EC155. Signed against the backdrop of India Aviation 2012 in Hyderabad, these helicopters will be delivered in corporate configuration within this year.
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Panama’s Copa Airlines to expand its fleet. The aircraft comes from GECAS’ existing order book with Boeing.
Norwegian Air Shuttle, the third largest low-cost airline in Europe, is the newest GoldCare customer, with a 12-year agreement that covers the airline’s future 787 Dreamliner fleet. Norwegian has three 787-8s on firm order, with commitments to lease three additional 787s. Norwegian has selected GoldCare Enterprise, which encompasses the complete parts, engineering, and maintenance solution.
GE Aviation is celebrating the completion of the 1000th GE90-115B engine at its facility in Peebles, Ohio (USA). The engine hit the 1000th mark eight years after it entered service with International Lease Finance Corporation’s customer Air France.
