Spirit AeroSystems has successfully delivered its first composite center fuselage section for the Airbus A350 XWB program. The upper and forward lower shell (Section 15) composite fuselage panels were joined in Spirit’s Saint-Nazaire, France, facility before being delivered to Airbus. Spirit is the world’s largest independent supplier of commercial airplane assemblies and components.
Ethiopian Airlines has ordered Blended Winglets for its 767-300ERs. Ethiopian Airlines will install the winglets in Addis Ababa at their maintenance facility at Bole International Airport. Initial installations, on 3 aircraft, are planned to commence in February 2012 .
On Jan. 3rd 2012, the business class modifications on 16 Airbus 330-200s of Air China were completed by Ameco Beijing, marking the end of a 6-month lasting project.
