For the month of September 2012, Copa Holdings’ system-wide traffic increased 27.1% year over year, while capacity increased 25.6%. As a result, system load factor for September 2012 was 73.8%, a 0.9 point increase when compared to September 2011.
Finnair traffic for the month of September rose by 10.6% as the overall capacity grew 2.9% year‐over‐year. Passenger load factor improved by 5.4 points year‐over‐year and was 78.6%.
For the month of September, Air Canada reported a record system load factor of 84.9%, versus 82.8% in September 2011, an increase of 2.1 points. System traffic increased 3.1% on a system-wide capacity increase of 0.5%.
US Airways Group announced September 2012 traffic results. Mainline traffic for the month was up 1.8% versus September 2011. Mainline capacity was up 0.9% versus September 2011. Mainline load factor was 84.4% for the month of September, up 0.8 points versus September 2011.
Alaska reported a 5.1% increase in traffic on a 5.0% increase in capacity compared with September 2011. This resulted in a 0.1-point increase in load factor to a September record of 84.0%. Horizon reported a 4.3% increase in September traffic on a 7.9% increase in capacity compared with September 2011. This resulted in a 2.6-point
Republic Airways Holdings, reported preliminary passenger traffic results for September 2012. Traffic for the month was down 5% compared to the previous year, while capacity was down 7% year over year. Consolidated load factor was 82% versus 80% in the same month last year.
WestJet announced September 2012 traffic results with a load factor of 79.1%, up 4.4 points compared to September 2011. Traffic increased 7.7% year over year, and capacity grew 1.7% over the same period.
Delta’s system traffic in September 2012 fell 1.1% compared to the same period in 2011, while capacity was down 0.6%. This resulted in a 0.4 point decline in load factor, to 83.2%.
AMR Corporation reported August 2012 consolidated traffic results for its principal subsidiary, American Airlines and its wholly owned subsidiary, AMR Eagle Holding Corporation. Consolidated traffic increased 0.1% year-over-year, on 1.5% lower capacity, resulting in a consolidated load factor of 85.8%, an increase of 1.4 points versus the same period last year.
United Continental Holdings (UAL) reported August 2012 combined operational results for its airline units. UAL’s consolidated traffic in August 2012 increased 0.4% and consolidated capacity decreased 0.6% versus August 2011. The company’s consolidated load factor in August 2012 increased 0.9 points to 86.6% compared to August 2011.
