Porter Airlines reports May load factor of 60.5%
Porter Airlines established a new high for May with a load factor of 60.5%, one point higher than the previous year. May results showed capacity improved 12.5% from last year and traffic was up 14.4%.

Delta released that consolidated traffic for the month of May decreased 0.6% compared to the same period in 2011, while consolidated capacity decreased 0.9%. Consolidated load factor for the month was up 0.2 points to 84.1% compared to May 2011.
LAN Airlines’ system traffic increased 13.9% in April as capacity rose 5.8%. As a result, the Company’s load factor for the month increased 5.9 points to 83.0%.
For the month of April 2012, Copa Holdings’ system-wide passenger traffic increased 22.0% year over year, while capacity increased 23.3%. As a result, system load factor for April 2012 was 74.7%, a 0.8 point decrease when compared to April 2011.
AMR reported April consolidated traffic increased an estimated 11.6% compared to the prior year period. The Company reported an April consolidated load factor of 82.9%, an increase of 2.5 points versus the same period last year and a 3.2% decrease in capacity year-over-year.
SAS Group reported that April traffic increased by 7.9% in April and capacity increased by 6.2% compared to April 2011. The passenger load factor increased by 1.2 points to 75.5%.
In April, Finnair traffic rose by 10% as the overall capacity was flat year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor improved by 7.1% points and was 76.4% compared to April 2011.
In April 2012, Group traffic excluding bmi, rose by 2.9% versus April 2011, while capacity excluding bmi, was up 0.5%. The load factor for April was up 1.9 points to 81.6%.
Norwegian reported that traffic in April 2012 increased by 7%, while capacity increased by 9% compared to the same period in 2011. The load factor for the month was down 1.0 point to 76%.
Ryanair released that April 2012 traffic grew 6% compared to the same period in 2011. The load factor was down 1.0 point to 81% year on year.
