Republic Airways reported preliminary passenger traffic results for April 2012. Traffic in April decreased 1.0% over the same month last year, on a decrease in capacity of 3%. Consolidated load factor was 80% in April of 2012 versus 79% in the same month last year.
For the month of April, Air Canada reported a system load factor of 83.0%, versus 81.9% in April 2011, an increase of 1.1 points. System traffic increased 1.0% on a system-wide capacity decrease of 0.3%.
Alaska Air Group reported April operational results for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Alaska reported a 6.3% increase in traffic on a 3.1% increase in capacity compared to April 2011. This resulted in a 2.5-point increase in load factor to 87.4%. Horizon reported a 13.4% decline in April traffic on a 13.1% decline
US Airways Group’s mainline traffic for the month of April 2012 was up 2.1% versus April 2011, while mainline capacity was up 1.6%. Mainline passenger load factor was 83.0% for the month of April, up 0.4 points versus April 2011.
WestJet announced April traffic results with a load factor of 86.2%. Traffic increased 8.2% over year and capacity grew 5% over the same period. The airline flew 1.48m guests this month; more than 120,000 additional guests than April of last year.
Delta reported system traffic increase of 1.1% for April 2012, on a 1.3% reduction in capacity, compared to the previous year. This resulted in a 2.0 point improvement in load factor to 82.8%.
LAN Airlines reported that system passenger traffic increased 14.7% as capacity rose 8.2%. As a result, the Company’s load factor for the month increased 4.7 points to 82.4%.
Southwest Airlines reported March 2012 combined traffic results for Southwest Airlines and AirTran. The Company reported traffic decrease of 0.9% while capacity decreased 0.9% compared to March 2011. The load factor for March 2012 was 81.8%, compared to the combined load factor of 81.9% in March 2011.
Finnair traffic measured rose by 11.6% and the overall capacity grew by 3.6% year-on-year. Passenger load factor improved by 5.6 points and was 78.0%.
UAL’s consolidated traffic in March 2012 increased 1.0% and consolidated capacity decreased 1.1% versus March 2011. The company’s consolidated load factor in March 2012 increased 1.7 points to 81.5% compared to March 2011.
