Norwegian's traffic up 24% in December

Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for December 2011. System load factor increased 0.8 points to 80.9%, as traffic declined 2.3% on 3.3% lower capacity year over year.
WestJet reprted record December 2011 traffic results with a load factor of 80.9%, tying its second highest December load factor ever. Traffic increased 8% year over year, and capacity grew 7.1% over the same period.
Porter Airlines released that December traffic increased 29.9% compared to December 2010 and capacity increased 26.7%. The load factor was up 1.5 pts to 63.9%.
LAN Airlines S.A. released that during November, system passenger traffic increased 13.4% as capacity rose 15.1%. As a result, the Company’s load factor for the month decreased 1.3 points to 80.3%. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 65.6% of total passenger traffic. Starting in January 2011, these figures include AIRES’ domestic and international operations.
United and Continental’s combined consolidated traffic in November 2011 decreased 3.6% versus November 2010, on a combined consolidated capacity decrease of 4.0%. The carriers’ combined consolidated load factor in November 2011 increased 0.3 points to 81.2% compared to the same period last year.
SAS Group carried 2.3 million passengers in November 2011, up 4.6%, traffic increased by 0.8% and capacity increased 2.6% vs the same period last year. The passenger load factor decreased by 1.3 pts to 68.7%.
Norwegian released that traffic for the month of November 2011 increased by 19%, while capacity increased by 19%. The load factor was 77%, which is equivalent to last year.
AirFrance KLM released that in November 2011, traffic rose 2.5% for capacity up 1.7%, leading to a 0.6 point rise in the load factor to 79.7%. The number of passengers stood at 5.87 million, up 2.6%.
Ryanair released that traffic for the month of November fell by 0.8% compared to the same period in 2010. The load factor for the month was recorded at 80%, the same as in November 2010.
