Copa Holdings released that traffic in January was up 5.8% from the year-ago figure. On a year-over-year basis, consolidated capacity improved 5.4%. The load factor for the month expanded 40 basis points (bps) to 84% in the first month of 2018 as traffic growth outpaced capacity.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) continues to be on a growth path in the New Year. In January 2018, Germany’s largest aviation hub recorded 4,549,717 passengers (up 7.6%). Once again European traffic was the main growth driver, increasing by 12.6%, while intercontinental traffic rose by 2.6%. Finnair reported total traffic in January increased 19.3% while capacity increased 19.8% compared to the same period in 2017. Total load factor for January was down 0.4 points to 80.1%, compared to January 2017.
