Virgin America reported its preliminary operational results for April 2016. The airline’s traffic increased 11.7% on capacity that was 13.5% higher from the same month in 2015. Load factor was 84%, a decrease of 1.4 points from April 2015.
Hawaiian Airlines has announced that its system-wide traffic for April increased 10.7% compared to the same month in 2015, while capacity increased 3.3%. The load factor improved 5.6 points to 83.1% compared to the previous year.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for March showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs) rose 5.3%, compared to the same month last year. Capacity grew slightly faster at 5.9% which pushed the average load factor down by half a percentage point to 79.6%. March performance shows
WestJet reported April 2016 traffic results with a load factor of 80.6%. Traffic increased 5.5% year-over-year and capacity grew 5.0% over the same period. The airline flew 1.7 million guests in April, a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or approximately 84,000 additional guests.
GOL reported system traffic for April 2016 decreased 11.2% compared to April 2015, while system capacity decreased 10.7%. Total system load factor for April was down 0.4 points to 73.2% compared to the previous year.
JetBlue Airways reported that traffic in March increased 12.1% from March 2015, on a capacity increase of 12.5%. Load factor for March 2016 was 86.8%, a decrease of 0.4 points from March 2015.

UAL’s March 2016 consolidated traffic decreased 1.5% and consolidated capacity decreased 0.1% versus March 2015. UAL’s March 2016 consolidated load factor decreased 1.1 points to 81.6% compared to March 2015.
International Airlines Group (IAG) reported consolidated March traffic was up 6.7% compared to the previous year and consolidated capacity for the month rose 5.4%. The load factor for March 2016 increased 1.0 point to 80.5%.
In March, Finnair’s overall capacity grew by 3.3% and traffic grew by 4.2% year‐over‐year. The passenger load factor rose by 0.6% points to 79.5%.
