IATA posts traffic demand for March

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for March showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs) rose 5.3%, compared to the same month last year. WestJet reports April load factor of 80.6%

WestJet reported April 2016 traffic results with a load factor of 80.6%. Traffic increased 5.5% year-over-year and capacity grew 5.0% over the same period. The airline flew 1.7 million guests in April, a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or approximately 84,000 additional guests.

Virgin America reports March 2016 operational results

Virgin America reported its preliminary operational results for March 2016. The airline’s traffic increased 14.6% on capacity (measured in available seat miles) that was 15.1% higher from the same month in 2015. Load factor was 83.8%, a decrease of 0.4 points from March 2015.

IAG report March load factor of 80.5%

International Airlines Group (IAG) reported consolidated March traffic was up 6.7% compared to the previous year and consolidated capacity for the month rose 5.4%. The load factor for March 2016 increased 1.0 point to 80.5%.
