WestJet announced February 2016 traffic results with a load factor of 83.2%, down 1.1 points compared to February 2015. Traffic, increased 7.7% year over year, and capacity grew 9.2% over the same period.
Delta Air Lines reported that system traffic for February 2016 increased 5.3% compared to the previous year, while system capacity was up 6%. System load factor for the month was slightly down by 0.6 points to 79.9%
Alaska Air Group reported February operational results on a consolidated basis, for its mainline operations operated by subsidiary Alaska Airlines and for its regional flying operated by subsidiary Horizon Air Industries and third-party regional carriers, SkyWest Airlines and PenAir. Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has started off the year with continuing passenger growth. In the reporting month of January 2016, Germany’s largest aviation hub served about 4.2 million passengers, representing growth of 2.2% year-on-year – an increase of 76,000 passengers compared to the previous January record month from 2012. Southwest Airlines reported its January preliminary traffic statistics. Traffic in January 2016 increased 11.1%, while capacity increased 7.8% compared to Januar 2015. The load factor for the month was 77.5%, compared with 75.2% the previous year.
Ryanair released traffic figures for the month of January, with traffic improving 25% compared to the previous year. The load factor for January was 88% up 5.0 points.
Allegiant reported a January system load factor of 80.5%, down 4.5 points compared to January 2015. System traffic for the month increase 14% while capacity improved 14.1% year over year.
SkyWest reported financial and operating results for the fourth quarter of 2015, including adjusted net income of US$25m, up from adjusted net income of US$15.7m. GAAP net income for the quarter was US$40m, compared to a loss of US$28m for the same quarter of 2014. Adjusted net income for the full year 2015 was US$103m,
Hawaiian Airlines has announced its system-wide traffic statistics for the month of January. Traffic increased 5.2% when compared to the previous year, while capacity increased 1.5%. The load factor for January was up 2.9 points to 81.1%.
