For the month of January, Air Canada reported a system-wide capacity increase of 7.1% and a load factor of 80.1% tying last year’s record. On this additional capacity, traffic increased 7.1% compared to January 2015.
Delta reported January traffic increased 3.7% compared to January 2015, while capacity for the month was up 1.1%, The load factor for January increased 2.1 points to 81.3%.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for November showing continued strong traffic growth above the 10-year average rate of 5.6%. Total revenue passenger kilometers rose 5.9% compared to the year-ago period. Although below the October rate of 7.1%, this largely was owing to the impact of factors that are expected
SAS traffic for December 2015 increased 7.9%, while capacity was up by 12.7% compared to the same month in 2014. The load factor decreased by 3.1 points to 68.2% year over year.
UAL’s December 2015 consolidated traffic increased 1.5% and consolidated capacity increased 2.2% versus December 2014. UAL’s December 2015 consolidated load factor decreased 0.5 points to 83%compared to December 2014.
Southwest Airlines reported its December, fourth quarter traffic statistics. Traffic increased 8.6% while capacity increased 8.3%, compared with December 2014. The December 2015 load factor was at 83.0%, compared with 82.7% in December 2014.
In December, Finnair’s overall capacity measured grew by 8.1% and traffic grew by 7.8 year‐on‐year. The passenger load factor decreased by 0.2% points to 76.8%.
WestJet reported December 2015 traffic results with a load factor of 79.2%. Traffic increased 3.9% year over year, and capacity grew 6.1% over the same period.

Volaris, the ultra-low-cost airline serving Mexico, the United States and Central America, reported December 2015 traffic results. During December 2015 Volaris increased total capacity by 18.2% year over year, while traffic increased 23.2%. Volaris posted a load factor of 85.6%, an increase of 3.5 points year over year.
