Ryanair reports increased August traffic

For the month of August, Air Canada reported a system-wide capacity increase of 10.4% and a load factor of 89.6% in line with last year’s August load factor of 89.8%. On this additional capacity, system wide traffic for August increased 10.1%.
WestJet reported August 2015 traffic results with a load factor of 84.6%, down 4.7 points compared to August 2014. Traffic increased 1.7% year over year, and capacity grew 7.3% over the same period.
Alaska reported a 6.5% increase in traffic on a 7.2% increase in capacity compared to August 2014. Load factor decreased 0.5 points to 87.1%. Horizon reported a 2.9% increase in traffic on a 3.5 % increase in capacity compared to August 2014. Load factor decreased 0.5 points to 81.8%.
Copa Holdings, S.A. released preliminary passenger traffic statistics for July 2015, with a 2.4% increase in traffic compared to July 2014 and a 5% increase in capacity. The load factor for July 2015 dropped 2.0 points to 78.1% compared to the previous year.
Virgin America reported its preliminary operational results for July 2015. The airline’s traffic decreased 1.4% on capacity that was 2.1% lower from the same month in 2014. Load factor was 85.6% an increase of 0.6 points from July 2014.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for June showing a 5.7% increase in demand compared to June 2014. This was a slowdown compared to the 6.9% year-over-year growth recorded in May, in part owing to the timing of Ramadan, which depressed travel demand in the Middle East. June capacity climbed
