Norwegian reports continued passenger growth in September

Alaska reported a 4.3% increase in traffic on a 5.9% increase in capacity compared to September 2012. This resulted in a 1.2 point decrease in load factor to 82.8%. Horizon reported a 3.8% increase in September traffic on flat capacity compared to September 2012. This resulted in a 2.9 point increase in load factor to
US Airways Group released its September 2013 traffic results. Traffic for the month was up 3.5% versus September 2012, while mainline capacity was up 3.8% versus September 2012. Mainline passenger load factor was 84.1% for the month of September, down 0.3 points versus September 2012.
WestJet reported September 2013 traffic results with a load factor of 76.6%. Traffic increased 5.7% year over year, and capacity grew 9.2% over the same period. The airline flew 4.9 million guests in the third quarter, a year-over-year increase of 7.1%.
Delta Air Lines reported operating performance for September 2013 with System traffic increasing by 1.8%, while capacity increased 1.7%, when compared to the same period in 2012. System load factor for September increased 0.1 point to 83.3%.
Virgin America’s August 2013 traffic decreased 5.1%, while capacity decrased 5.0% when compared to August 2012. Load factor was 82.2%, which is unchanged from the same month a year prior.
For the month of August 2013, Copa Holdings’ system-wide passenger traffic increased 17.9% year over year, while capacity increased 12.7%. As a result, system load factor for August 2013 was 77.1%, a 3.4 point increase when compared to August 2012.
SAS Group released that capacity for the month of August was up by 11.7%, while the Group’s traffic increased by 10.3% compared to the same period in 2012. The SAS Group’s load factor decreased by 1.0 point to 77.8%.
UAL’s August 2013 consolidated traffic decreased 0.5% and consolidated capacity decreased 1.4% versus August 2012. UAL’s August 2013 consolidated load factor increased 0.8 points to 87.4% when compared to August 2012.
AMR Corporation reported August 2013 consolidated revenue and traffic results for its principal subsidiary, American Airlines and its wholly owned subsidiary, AMR Eagle Holding Corporation. Consolidated capacity and traffic were 4.2% and 3.2% higher year-over-year, respectively, resulting in a consolidated load factor of 85.0%, 0.8 points below the same period last year.
