Southwest Airlines reported that traffic for the month of August decreased 2.0% compared to August 2012, while capacity increased 1.4% year over year. The August 2013 load factor was 81.3%, compared to 84.2% in August 2012, down 2.9 points.
Republic Airways reported preliminary passenger traffic results for August 2013. The Company reported that traffic decreased 4% from August 2012, on a 3% reduction in capacity. Consolidated load factor was 85%, down 1.0 point from August 2012.
Norwegian released that traffic for the month of August was up 30%, while capacity was up 31%. The load factor was 79.2%, down 1.2 points when compared to the same month last year.
Ryanair released that August traffic increased by 1% year over year while the load factor increased 1.0 point to 89% compared to the same period in 2012 .
For the month of August, Air Canada reported a record system load factor of 89.5%, versus 87.9% in August 2012 , an increase of 1.6 points. System traffic increased 4.7% on a system-wide capacity increase of 2.9%.
Finnair traffic rose by 12.3% and the overall capacity grew 6.4% year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor improved by 4.5 points and was 85.2%.
US Airways announced its August and year-to-date 2013 traffic results with traffic increase of 6.3% versus August 2012, while capacity was up 5.6%. Load factor was a record 87.9% for the month of August, up 0.6 points versus August 2012.
Alaska reported an 8.1% increase in traffic on a 9.2% increase in capacity compared to August 2012. This resulted in a 0.9 point decrease in load factor to 88.0%. Horizon reported a 0.8% increase in August traffic on a 2.5% decrease in capacity compared to August 2012. This resulted in a 2.8 point increase in
WestJet announced August 2013 traffic results with a load factor of 87.9%. Traffic increased 11.5% year-over-year, and capacity grew 12.8% over the same period.
Delta Air Lines reported operating performance for August 2013. System traffic increased 2.7% compared to the same period in 2012, while capacity increased 3.3%. System load factor for the month was slightly down by 0.5 points to 87.3%.
