Alaska Air Group reports May operational results
Alaska reported a 6.7% increase in traffic on a 7.3% increase in capacity compared to May 2012. This resulted in a 0.4 point decrease in load factor to 86.5%.

US Airways Group mainline traffic for the month was up 5.9% versus May 2012 while mainline capacity was up 3.9% versus May 2012. Mainline passenger load factor was a record 85.8% for the month of May, up 1.7 points versus May 2012.
WestJet announced May 2013 traffic results with a load factor of 78.5%, down 0.7 points compared to May 2012. Traffic increased 8.2% year over year and capacity was 9.1% higher over the same period. The airline flew 1.5 million guests in May, a year-over-year increase of 7.9%.
For the month of May Delta reported a 1.4% increase in system traffic, while system capacity was slightly up by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2012. The load factor for May was up 0.7 points to 84.8% compared to the previous year.
In April Finnair traffic rose by 5.9% and the overall capacity grew 6.7% year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor fell by 0.5% points and was 75.8%.
For the month of April 2013, Copa Holdings’ system-wide passenger traffic increased 18.3% year over year, while capacity increased 20.0%. As a result, system load factor for April 2013 was 73.6%, a 1.1 point decline when compared to April 2012.
Norwegian released that capacity in April was up 40% and traffic was up 36%. The load factor was 73.6%, down 2.2 percentage points.
In April 2013, IAG traffic decreased by 5.6% versus April 2012, while Group capacity was down 2.9%. Group load factor for April was down 2.2 points to 79.2%.
AMR reported that consolidated traffic for April 2013 was 1.1% lower year-over-year, on 0.4% more capacity. The consolidated load factor decreased 1.3 points to 81.6% over the same period last year.
Republic Airways reported preliminary passenger traffic results for April 2013. The Company reported that traffic decreased 7% from April 2012, on a 7% reduction in capacity. Consolidated load factor increased one point to 81% from April 2012.
