Southwest Airlines’ traffic for February 2013 decreased 2.3% from February 2012 while capacity decreased 3.1% to 9.3. The February 2013 load factor was 75.8%, compared to 75.2% in February 2012.
For the month of February, Air Canada reported a record system load factor of 79.8%, versus 76.8% in February 2012 , an increase of 3.0 points. System traffic decreased 0.7% on a system-wide capacity decrease of 4.4%. Air Canada reports traffic results on a system-wide basis, including regional airlines from which Air Canada purchases capacity.
Republic Airways reported preliminary passenger traffic results for February 2013. Traffic decreased 13% from February 2012, on a 17% capacity decrease. Consolidated load factor increased to 78% from 75% in February 2012.
For the month of February 2013, Copa Holdings’ system-wide passenger traffic increased 17.4% year over year, while capacity increased 16.9%. As a result, system load factor for February 2013 was 76.3%, a 0.3 percentage point increase when compared to February 2012.
Ryanair released passenger and load factor stats for Feb 2013, during which its adjusted monthly traffic fell by 3% over February 2012 as Ryanair grounded up to 80 aircraft. The load factor for the month was up 1.0 point, to 77%.
Norwegian reported February’s traffic results. Total traffic increased by 19% and the total capacity increased 19% compared to the same month last year. The load factor was 78% in February, the same as February last year.
Porter Airlines reported a load factor of 54% in February. This represents a decline of 2.1 points compared to 2012. Traffic for the month was down 8.6%, while capacity was down 5.0% compared to the same period in 2012.
WestJet reported February 2013 traffic results with a record load factor of 86.1%. Traffic increased 7.3% year over year, and capacity grew 3.1% over the same period.
Delta reported that February 2013 traffic declined 2.2% while capacity was down 5% compared to the previous year. The load factor for the month was 79.1% up 2.2 points compared to 2012.
Alaska Air Group reported February operational results for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and on a combined basis.
