For the month of January, Air Canada reported a record system load factor of 79.4%, versus 79.1% in January 2012, an increase of 0.3 points. System traffic increased 0.3% on a system-wide capacity decrease of 0.1%.
US Airways Group announced January 2013 traffic results. Mainline traffic for the month was up 4.8% versus January 2012, while mainline capacity was up 1.8% versus January 2012. Mainline passenger load factor was 81.1% for the month of January, up 2.3 points versus January 2012.
On a combined basis, Alaska Air Group reported an 11.5% increase in traffic on an 11.4% increase in capacity compared to January 2012. This resulted in a 0.1-point increase in load factor to a January record of 82.7%. These statistics include flights operated by Alaska and those under capacity purchase agreements, including Horizon, SkyWest and
Delta reported that January 2013 traffic was unchanged when compared to the previous year, capacity was down 2.4% compared to January 2012 and the load factor for the month was up 1.9 points to 79.4%.
The SAS Group reported that traffic for the month of December increased 2.4%, while capacity was up 3%. The SAS Group’s load factor decreased 0.5 points to 69.5%.
Air France-KLM reported that traffic for December 2012 was stable for a 0.4% reduction in capacity. The load factor for the month stood at 81.8% up 0.3 points compared to December 2011. The number of passengers amounted to 5.99m, down 2.0%.
US Airways Group released that mainline traffic for the month of December 2012 was up 1.3% versus December 2011. Mainline capacity was down 0.2% versus December 2011 and mainline load factor was 83.1% for the month of December, up 1.2 points versus December 2011.
UAL’s consolidated traffic in December 2012 decreased 4.0% and consolidated capacity decreased 5.4% versus December 2011. UAL’s consolidated load factor in December 2012 increased 1.2 points to 82.4% compared to December 2011.
Hawaiian Airlines reported that December traffic increased 22.8% compared to the previous year, while capacity was up 27.3%. The load factor for December was down 2.9 points to 79.9% compared to December 2011.
AMR Corporation reported December 2012 consolidated traffic and capacity were 2.0% and 2.1% higher year-over-year, respectively, resulting in a consolidated load factor of 80.2%, an increase of 0.1 points versus the same period last year.
