FLY Leasing, a global lessor of modern commercial jet aircraft, has acquired a 2013 manufactured Boeing 737-800 aircraft on a 12-year lease to a leading low-cost carrier in Asia. The acquisition was funded with a combination of FLY’s unrestricted cash and the $250m aircraft acquisition facility that was closed in November 2012.

Air Lease Corporation announced a long term lease agreement with KLM for a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which is scheduled for delivery in March 2015. Additionally, ALC and KLM reached agreement on lease extensions for three 737-800s and one 777-200ER, currently operating in the KLM fleet.
Rolls-Royce has won a $1.6bn order, at list prices, from International Airlines Group (IAG) for Trent XWB engines to power 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. Air Lease Corporation announced a lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for two new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, both on lease for twelve years. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May and June 2015.

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has signed a purchase and leaseback transaction with Spirit Airlines for six new Airbus A320 aircraft to expand the carrier’s fleet. GECAS delivered the first aircraft to Spirit in March. The remainder deliver in 2013 with all six aircraft coming from Spirit’s existing order book with Airbus.
