Libyan carrier Buraq Air has again selected A J Walter Aviation to provide power-by-the-hour support for an additional two B737- 400 aircraft in its fleet. This latest contract was signed for a period of three years. AJW already supports the airline

ORIX Aviation, a Dublin-based Operating Lessor reported recent completion of the following transactions: ORIX Aviation leased one B737-400 (MSN 28702) to Bulgaria Air until 2014, one B737-300 (MSN 27834) to Jet Time until 2011 and one lease extension of one A320-200 (MSN 476), to Thomas Cook until 2011.

AerCap Holdings N.V. has signed an agreement with Dublin-based aircraft leasing company Avolon for the sale of six A320s. Four of the aircraft are new (2010 manufactured) and are part of the AerVenture portfolio, a joint venture between AerCap and Abu Dhabi’s investment holding company Waha Capital. Amentum Capital, a Dublin, Ireland, based leasing company has delivered two Airbus A330-200 aircraft (MSNs 970 and 979) powered by Pratt & Whitney PW 4168A engines to Royal Jordanian Airlines of Jordan. The aircraft are owned by HSH Nordbank.

The Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Phongsavanh Airlines, a start-up Laos carrier, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 3 Sukhoi Superjet 100 airplanes with 6 a/c as an option. The order is valued at $95,1 million at list prices. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2012.

Finnair will lease out two 76-seater Embraer 170 aircraft for four years from the beginning of June. The value of the lease agreement is almost 20 million US dollars. The first Boeing 777 Freighter to enter Qatar Airways’ fleet completed a 16-hour flight from Boeing’s Everett, Wash., Delivery Center to Doha, Qatar, and has been placed into service. The airplane was delivered May 17th. Qatar Airways ordered three 777 Freighters in May 2006, for deployment on Far East and European routes.

Lufthansa took delivery of its first Airbus A380 on May 19th.
