Avianca takes delivery of first CFM-powered Airbus A320 aircraft

Avianca has taken delivery of the first of 50 CFM56-5B-powered Airbus A320. The airline became CFM’s newest customer in 2007 with a $650 million order for engines to power 47 purchased A319/A320 aircraft, as well as leasing three additional airplanes from CIT Aerospace.
