Kalitta Air and Pratt & Whitney have signed an agreement to upgrade the airline’s fleet of JT9D engines with Pratt & Whitney durability kits. The kits, covering 12 upgrades, are valued at more than $25 million over three years; deliveries will begin in March 2008. Kalitta Air also maintains the option to purchase additional durability kits.
