Grupo Marsans exercises options for PW4000 engines

Grupo Marsans, the largest tourism and transport group in Spain, has exercised options to purchase Pratt & Whitney PW4000-100″ engines to power five new Airbus A330 aircraft. The engine and maintenance agreement is valued at more than $285 million.

The order follows Grupo Marsans’ purchase of 12 firm PW4000-powered A330 jets at the 2007 Paris Air Show. The PW4000 engines are covered by an exclusive service agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. The A330s will be operated by Grupo Marsans’ Air Comet and Aerolineas Argentinas airlines with new aircraft deliveries beginning in 2010.
