RAK Airways sign deal for 737-800s

RAK Airways and Boeing held a signing ceremony on February 25 for the procurement of four 737-800s with purchase rights for two additional 737s. The deal is valued at approximately $300 million at list prices. RAK Airways is the fourth national airline of the UAE. The airline was established in February 2006 under an Emiri Decree by H.H. Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Ras al Khaimah is the UAE’s northernmost Emirate and recently announced an ambitious expansion plan that includes opening economic free zones to attract international business, tourists and a growing residential market.
