Alaska Air Cargo has named Joe Samudovsky director of cargo sales, responsible for building cargo revenue opportunities at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. An air cargo veteran, Samudovsky spent more than 20 years at United Airlines in progressively responsible cargo roles, including sales representative, district sales manager, special account services manager and domestic and international mail manager.
Alaska Air Cargo is investing $100 million to upgrade its cargo fleet and infrastructure. Alaska Airlines recently retrofitted five Boeing 737-400 aircraft into cargo configurations, increasing the carrier’s overall cargo capacity by 20 percent.
