AirTran Holdings reports first quarter net loss of $34.8 million

AirTran Holdings reported a net loss of $34.8 million for the first quarter. During the same quarter in 2007, AirTran reported net income of $2.2 million. AirTran revenues remain very strong, despite generally negative economic news in the U.S. Revenues for the first quarter grew 18.3% to $596.4 million, an all-time quarterly record, and passenger unit revenue increased 6.9%.
