Singapore-based Silkair has selected the International Aero Engines V2500 to power up to 20 new Airbus A320 family aircraft. The engines will be backed by a V2500Select agreement and, if all orders are realized, the combined engine purchase and aftermarket agreement is valued at $580 million to IAE.
Silk Air currently has 15 V2500-powered A320 family aircraft in operation. The additional aircraft announced on April 22, will begin delivery in March 2009.
