Pratt & Whitney signs agreement with Volvo Aero Norge for F135 engine work

Pratt & Whitney and Volvo Aero Norge signed an agreement to manufacture a critical engine component for the F135 propulsion system powering the F35 Lightning II. This agreement, combined with previous agreements signed with the company, have a potential value of more than $700 million in production over the life of the program. Pratt & Whitney signed a letter of intent with Volvo Aero Norge to manufacture diffuser cases for the F135 engine. The diffuser case diffuses and regulates the speed of airflow in the engine allowing the combustor to work most effectively.
