In 2008 the Hamburger Lufthansa Technik Group was able to increase its revenues and results in the face of a generally shrinking market. Revenue increased overall by 4.1% to EUR 3.7 billion. The 2008 annual report submitted for the 20 companies that make up the Lufthansa Technik Group showed a EUR 295 million pre-tax profit, equivalent to an increase of 2.6% year on year.
In 2008 the Group gained a further 37 customers, reaching a current total of 668 customers worldwide. 502 new contracts were signed, representing a total volume of EUR 3.2 billion over their entire contractual period (of up to ten years). Revenues from customers outside the Lufthansa Group stood at 59.6%, slightly below the level of the previous year (61.2%). This is attributable to a higher level of utilization by the Lufthansa Group and the development of the euro/dollar exchange rate.
