AerCap Holdings reports second quarter 2009 financial results

AerCap reported that second quarter 2009 net income was $56.6 million, compared with net income of $68.6 million for the same period in 2008. Second quarter 2009 net income excluding the impact of the mark-to-market of interest rate caps and share-based compensation was $39.1 million, compared with $58.2 million in second quarter 2008 on the same basis. The decrease in net income was largely due to lower income from the sale of assets in second quarter 2009 as compared to second quarter 2008. Lease revenue for the second quarter 2009 was $169.8 million, compared to $144.4 million for the same period in 2008, an increase of 18%.
