Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is investigating opportunities to increase its design and development of commercial aircraft in additional markets, with a particular focus on working with local industries. IAI considers an increased focus on joint ventures and other cooperative projects to be a strategic move. IAI has over 40 years of experience in designing, developing, and manufacturing both military and commercial aircraft. IAI has a successful partnership with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation to develop mid-size and super mid-size executive jets. Currently, the G250 new executive jet is undergoing certification processes by the Israeli, European, and American authorities. The first G250 aircraft are expected to be delivered by Gulfstream to customers by the middle of 2011. IAI has already produced approximately 1,000 executive jets of various kinds at its facilities in Israel.
