AerCap Holdings N.V. announced the results of its operations for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2009. Fourth quarter 2009 net income was $43.2 million, compared to a net loss of $19.0 million for the same period in 2008. Fourth quarter 2009 net income excluding the impact of the mark-to-market of interest rate caps and share-based compensation was $40.3 million, compared to net income of $18.7 million in fourth quarter 2008 on the same basis.
Full year 2009 net income was $165.2 million, compared to $151.8 million for the full year 2008. Full year 2009 net income excluding the impact of the mark-to-market of interest rate caps and share-based compensation was $150.2 million, down 24% compared to $197.8 million for the full year 2008. This decrease was mainly caused by lower gains from sales.
