ITR sees 2010 with optimism after signing a 10-year contract with Airbus to provide them with hydraulic piping on the ATA 27 and ATA 29 chapters for the single-aisle A320 aircraft family. This represents a great technological and industrial advance for the Mexican aeronautics sector that has in recent years begun to flourish at an international level. The contract diversifies ITR’s client portfolio which currently focused on aicrarft engines, turning towards the structural portion of the airplane, making use of the advanced technical capacities developed by personnel and high tech machinery at ITR.
The contract also increases ITR’s current workload volume by 150% and generates additional sales of $50 million throughout the term of the contract. Work will be carried out at the Turborreactores plant located in Queretaro, including 150 parts that will be manufactured in steel and titanium to be developed in an estimated period of 18 months.
