Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Company, (GAMECO) has signed a design contract for a new Phase II hangar with China Aviation Planning and Construction Development Co., Ltd.. The new hangar will be located on land adjacent to the GAMECO facility at the Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, P. R. China. The hangar will have over 60,000 square meters and will be capable of handling eight narrow-body aircraft. The hangar will also include engine shops and maintenance support shops, as well as new training facilities. Hangar design is expected to be completed later this year and construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2010.
