MTU Aero Engines Holding AG improved its revenues in the first quarter 2011 by 4 % to EUR 664.8 million (1-3/2010: EUR 640.2 million). The company’s operating profit rose by 17 % to EUR 80.5 million, compared with EUR 68.8 million in the same quarter of the previous year. This brought the operating margin up to 12.1 % compared with 10.7 % in the first three months of 2010. At EUR 40.4 million, net income remained stable (1-3/2010: EUR 40.1 million).The increase in revenues compared with the first quarter 2010 is mainly attributable to strong growth in the commercial engine business, including spare parts sales.
